I wish to update you on some important changes that we have put in place in response to our shared concerns in regards COVID-19.
As principal of Neurophysiotherapy Services, I am focussed on the ongoing wellbeing of all our patients and staff and as such we have introduced a number of additional measures to ensure the safety of everyone who attends our rooms during the period of COVID-19.
I also fully understand and support those who wish to self-isolate and we are pleased to be offering an alternative treatment option that may be suitable depending on the particular needs of the patient.
For those attending the rooms, the back and front doors will remain open (weather permitting) to ensure there is no need to be in contact with door handles. During winter months we will ask patients to call or ring the doorbell on arrival and we will open the door. Hand sanitiser is provided. Those people not essential to the treatment are asked to remain outside of the building. We have two treatment rooms running with extra time allocated to each patient, providing ample time to conduct a thirty or forty-five-minute treatment and allow the patient to depart well before the next person arrives.
For those in isolation or who are unable to attend the rooms, a Telehealth online consultation will be available. While obviously not a ‘hands-on’ treatment, we will be able to virtually assess you via a Telehealth consultation, answer questions and guide you through exercises that may help you with your balance, walking or dizziness.
If you wish to book an online Telehealth consultation please contact Julie or Barbara on 8331 2700 and they will schedule an appointment. Please note that you will need a device with a camera and microphone installed i.e. a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Further information on accessing the consultation will be made available to you once the appointment is made.
Like many businesses, we will no longer be accepting cash payments and ask that you pay in-full by either payWave or via direct debit. Once paid, we will issue an invoice that can be used to claim through health funds or Medicare reimbursement. For patients receiving online consultations, an invoice will be emailed to be paid via direct debit within 48 hours of the treatment (please note overdue payments for online consultations may result in an increased fee). For patients seeking private health rebates, on receipt of payment, a paid invoice will be issued to submit to private health providers. It should be noted however that policies regarding rebates on Telehealth consultations for physiotherapy services may vary between health funds.
Julie, Barbara and I also plan to keep in periodic contact with our ongoing, regular patients, just to check in, as you are all integral and important to Neurophysiotherapy Services. I consider it to be part of the practice’s obligation, as health practitioners, to remotely monitor the well-being of our patients at this time.
I will miss you all greatly, and really look forward to resuming normal services as soon as possible.
Please note that we will continue to update you on our services via our website, so if things start to improve, please check back in.
Keep well and stay safe.
With kindest regards
