No. You can book directly with a physiotherapist in Australia without a referral, and private health extras rebates apply either way. A referral is only needed if you are claiming through Medicare, which happens via a Chronic Disease Management plan arranged by your GP, or through DVA. Training and focus. General physiotherapy treats muscles and joints, where the tissue is damaged and needs to heal and be strengthened. Neurological physiotherapy treats conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and nervous system, where the muscle is often intact and the problem is the signal reaching it. That requires different assessment and different treatment. Our founder holds a Masters in Physiotherapy specialising in Neurological Physiotherapy, and our team includes accredited vestibular physiotherapists.

BPPV is caused by crystals in the inner ear moving into a canal where they do not belong. It is treated with a corrective manoeuvre, a specific sequence of head and body positions that moves them back, and it often resolves in one or two sessions. Which manoeuvre is correct depends on which canal is involved, established by specific positional testing. Our physiotherapists teach BPPV corrective manoeuvres to other physiotherapists as an accredited course.

We are a registered NDIS provider, so we can work with self managed, plan managed and agency managed participants. Yes. We see people at our Eastwood clinic, at home across Adelaide, and by telehealth. Home visits are often better where the goal involves your actual home, such as managing your back step or your own bathroom, or where travel is difficult or unsafe. Most people use a combination, and the mix changes as they progress
