Neurological physiotherapy treats conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and nervous system, rather than muscle and joint injuries. The distinction matters because the problem is different. After a stroke the muscle is usually intact. What has changed is the brain's ability to send the signal that makes it work.
So the treatment retrains a nervous system rather than rehabilitating a tissue. It works through neuroplasticity, the brain's capacity to reorganise and form new connections, which responds to practice that is specific to the task you want back, repeated at volume, and made progressively harder as you improve.
We treat stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, acquired and traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, peripheral neuropathies, facial nerve injury including Bell's palsy, functional neurological disorder, and balance disorders.
Recovery is fastest early, which is why early rehabilitation matters. But improvement remains possible years later with the right training. If you have been told nothing more is possible, that is worth a second opinion.

We work with your family, carers and wider support network of medical practitioners and allied health in order to communicate our best recommendations and advice for ongoing support. Therapists may share the care of a patient to encompass different strengths and keep in regular contact with the referring Medical practitioner/Specialist or Allied health representative, to achieve the best level of care.
We are a proud National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registered Service Provider. We welcome all NDIS participants, and we can facilitate sessions with one or several of our team of physiotherapists to best achieve your goals.
Our Neurophysiotherapists will work together with you to identify these goals with a service agreement, which we review with you throughout the duration of your plan to best align with your priorities, lifestyle, and identified goals.
